This was filmed in the late 1930’s and early 1940’s in the Lake Havasu area. It has scenes of Havasu Landing in it’s early development and what fishing was like when the trees and brush were still protruding from the water. The branches of the trees were still above the water until the 1960’s and the fishing was excellent. We were still fishing in the trees while the divers with a barge from Lake Havasu City were in the lake cutting the trees off underwater. It was really sad to see them go.
The video ends with a short segment showing a couple of scenes in the Needles area and the return to Los Angeles on Route 66.
About 2 minutes of the video are a duplication of scenes posted by Catherine Gardner in her video Havasu Home Movies which are from our family 8mm film..
The video was converted from 8mm film to VHS in 1990 and now to MP4. There was no audio so music was added. All of the music was purchased by me, is not posted for monetary gain, and no copyright infringement is intended.
